The idea came from a farmer from the area who, after visiting the French Provence where he discovered and fell in love with the colour and aroma of these fields, brought back some cuttings of this plant. He convinced his brothers and a perfumer who had worked for the Loewe brand to start growing lavender.

Currently, Brihuega produces 10% of the world production of lavender essence.

We encourage you to do: The Route through the Tajuña Valley; the Fuentes de Brihuega Route, part of Yela, a district of Brihuega, we have 10 kilometres ahead of us to discover a striking balance of settings filled with charm and beauty. The Romanesque Church of Yela stands out at its beginning and, a few minutes away, we can take the Quejigares de Barriopedro path, an impressive route; the Route of the Camino de Toledo and Brihuega, it is a 10 kilometre path with a duration of 3 hours. It is a circular route that starts and ends in the municipality of Brihuega itself. The Route to Villaviciosa or the climb to Pico Ocejón for the more adventurous, where you can contemplate its impressive views from its 2,049 metres high, is an essential visit for all lovers of mountains and nature.
