In its facilities you can enjoy models of the nine provinces, an audiovisual documentary on Romanesque, library, watchtower, courses, conferences and an exhibition hall where you can see this art from different prisms.
It is a wide sample of the image of the architecture of this time that we call Romanesque, which leads us towards massive stone buildings, of dark interiors bathed in a dim light that allows us to recreate an almost idyllic world, which has remained to this day in rural areas, in some cases practically abandoned. It responds to the way of constructing a time, characterized by a deep religious sense in a Europe that recovers its identity. Few Romanesque civil buildings have reached our days, although they were also built.
Some of the models of emblematic buildings of Castilla y León that you can find are:- The Basilica of San Vicente in Ávila.
- The Church of San Martín in the town of Fromista, Palencia.
- The Church of San Marcos in the beautiful city of Salamanca.
- Church of San Tirso in Sahagún, province of León.
- Church of San Millán, Segovia.
- The well-known Monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos in the province of Burgos.
- The Church of San Juan de Rabanera, in Soria.
- The Church of Santa María de la Antigua in Valladolid.
All of them exact replicas to be able, from a bird's-eye view, to appreciate the benefits of the Romanesque architectural art.
