Laguna Negra (Black lagoon)
This dark, fascinating and enigmatic lagoon is riddled with legend. Found in the Vinuesa municipality, it is one of the most beautiful attractions in the Soria province, in Castile and León.
Located at an altitude of 2.000 meters, it is situated between granite rocks and surrounded by pine trees, which gives the lagoon a dark and sinister aspect. It reaches its height of beauty in the winter when it is covered in snow and ice.
The Laguna Negra in Soria originates from the Pleistocene glaciation, found in a cirque, typical glacier shape, with vertical conglomerate and quartzite walls and limestone cement, crowned by cresteria water.
