Why is the Museum of interest?
The caves of Altamira are regarded as one of the masterpieces of cave art, where more than 260 engravings and paintings can be seen. The caves were registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1985.
The Altamira Museum houses the permanent exhibition, and also offers family workshops, along with free and guided visits.
